COMMISSIONING A PAINTING

These are some frequently asked questions I get about the process of commissioning a painting. I am always accepting commissions! If you have any other questions, I encourage you to ask me using the contact form at the bottom of the page.

WHAT KIND OF PAINTINGS CAN YOU DO?

I can do anything you can imagine. I have done many traditional portraits, nude portraits, pet portraits, vehicle portraits, wedding portraits, funny imaginary fantasy portraits of people doing whatever they want, etc. Even if you only have only a vague idea of what you would like painted, we can talk about it and brainstorm together.  I will be happy to provide you with sketches of ideas too!

All of my paintings are done with acrylic paint.

CAN YOU MAKE A COPY OF SOMEONE ELSE’S PAINTING FOR ME?

No, I cannot reproduce anyone else’s artwork and accept money for it. However, I would be happy to design you something in a similar style or theme.

HOW DO I KNOW I WILL GET THE PAINTING?

When you commission a painting, you and I will sign a contract outlining the painting, payment arrangement, estimated time for completion, etc. This protects both you and me. HOW WILL I PAY?

You will pay 50% of the total price upfront and the remaining 50% upon completion. I accept check or cash. You will mail me your first payment along with the signed contract. Once I receive that, I will begin your painting. Once I receive your final payment, I will ship the painting to you.

I WANT A PAINTING, BUT I DON’T THINK I CAN AFFORD IT…

Ask me!!! As an artist, I absolutely understand when money is tight. If you can’t afford the price, let me know and I may be able to work with you. Give me your price range upfront if you are concerned, and I will tell you what I can do within it. You can also buy high quality prints of my original paintings for under $30. See what’s available as a print here. If a painting you like is not available as a print, send me a message using the contact form on the bottom of this page. I will let you know if I can make it available for you.
